What is Inbound?

  • Inbound is a 3-day, 2-night experience for incoming Illini to help you begin your transition from high school to life at the University of Illinois.
  • Inbound is an opportunity for you to become familiar with campus resources and gain tips on how to be successful at Illinois.
  • Inbound provides a time to build relationships with faculty members, university staff, current Illini, and other incoming students.
  • Inbound is a great opportunity to ask questions of current Illinois students— your Orientation Leaders!

COVID-19

Generally, students who are participating in Inbound or RISE are not currently required to show proof of vaccination. If a student displays symptoms, however, they will be asked their vaccination status and will need to show verification. If the student has uploaded their medical documentation to their MyMcKinley account and has downloaded the Illinois app, they will be able to show their building access status. If the student’s medical documentation has not yet been submitted, the student will need to complete a COVID test at a campus testing site. Until the results are received, the student will remain in isolation. If the student tests positive, the student will remain in isolation until a parent/family member comes to pick them up.

  • Make sure you are available for a session of Inbound and that your college is participating.
  • Space for this program is limited and spots will full up quickly.
  • The Inbound application will close two weeks prior to the program or when the program is completely full.
  • You will receive a confirmation email to your Illinois.edu email accounts within 24 hours of applying.
